I recently purchased a PS3 from Malaysia which had 1 Six axis and 1 Dual shock controller, and with the console as well, 1 HD cable, and rest all cables, I also got 2 games for free. All came within Rs.25000/-. The HDD capacity is 60 GB.

When I looked at the Sony India site they have given the 40GB PS3 as the official India release.But when I asked our local Sony showroom guy he said they had the 60GB version available for 25000.
This is good news because the 60GB version has PS2 backward compatibility feature through software emulation.
Kishor,can you give me the list of PS2 games playable through software emulation on the PS3.

If you buy it in India then no voltage converter is required, I’m not sure about the availability of the 40GB though.

I wanted to know that if I buy a PS3 in India then does it require a voltage converter??Also I have heard that the 60GB PS3 is not available in India,only the 40GB is available.Is this true??

Can anyone please tell me the current price of 60gb ps3 in india the one that has backward
compatabiltiy to play ps2 games

I am planning to buy PS3 console and its games from US.
I know it needs a voltage conveter as already mentioned in this forum,
are there any other changes that this console needs in order to play on
a Indian TV. Please help your response is appreciated.

Hi Bhawani,

There may a problem playing DVDs due to the regions, there isnt much you can do other than buy the games and movies you need in Canada itself.
