The Journey to France

Posted in Travel |

I’m at France right now and the place is fabulous. But before describing the place, let me tell you about the journey.

I went to the International Terminal at the Hyderabad Airport at 10 Pm , which was more crowded than the domestic terminal due to the fact that each person who was leaving had 10 people to send them off. Anyways, the check in and security check went on smoothly and we had 2 more hours till departure. I tried reading a book but then I started looking at the people which is one of my favourite pastimes at airports. The time passed quite quickly and before we knew it, I was on the plane waiting for it to take off. The take off was late by only 5 minutes and after dinner, I dozed off into a deep sleep. The radio on the plane was amazing and kept me entertained throughout the flight. I slept through the first movie shown but watched the second movie ‘Jaan-e-mann’ which was much better than I expected it to be, or maybe it felt better because I was pretty bored. And when the movies were over, the screen displayed a Live Updated Location of the plane on the world map and I felt that it was pretty cool. The plane landed 15 minutes late because the runways were supposedly full. After landing at the Frankfurt Airport, we had to rush through to catch our plane to Paris. The Frankfurt airport is HUGE but the layout is well designed and there are marks on the ceiling to guide you. We had just 30 mins to board our plane. Fortunately, we were given our boarding passes in Hyderabad itself and we just had to board the plane as soon as possible. Our gate was A40 and 15 minutes before the plane departed, we were at A1 which meant that we had to walk around a kilometre in 10 minutes. We went as fast our legs could take us and fortunately, we reached there at the right moment. We boarded the plane and an hour later we were in Paris. We went through the immigration check and all at the Charles De Gaulle Airport. The airport itself was pretty fancy and had an interesting design. Finally, after more than 15 hours, a lady smiled at us at the gate and said ‘Welcome to Paris’.

I’ll post low resolution pictures soon. I’ll be posting high resolution only after going back to Hyderabad.
