This is my first Photoshop tutorial. Its a pretty simple tutorial on how to make your photographs look like they’ve been taken from a thermal imaging camera. I will illustrating each step with screenshots.
Step 1
Open the image you wish to modify. I am using a random image I took of my friends.

Step 2
Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur

Step 3
Apply a Gaussian Blur between 5 - 10 pixels depending on the image resolution. I used a Gaussian Blur of 7.

Step 4
Go to Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map

Step 5
Open the Drop Down box by selecting the arrow next to default black and white gradient. In the drop down box, select the ‘Transparent Rainbow’ gradient which I have encircled below.

Step 6
Thats it. You now have an image which looks like it has been taken with a Thermal Camera. You can play around with the Gaussian Blur values and can invert the gradient for different looks.

Thanks for taking time to read my first photoshop tutorial. Feel free to give your feedback in the comments.

We had Maths yesterday, I couldn’t finish the paper due to lack of time. I did fine though. We had commerce today, I wrote well and the time was sufficient.
I finished reading ‘Timeline’ by Micheal Crichton. It was a action paced book and unexpected had several twists and turns. The description was very realistic and it felt like I was in the medivial times myself. 8.5/10

Both the English Papers were really short. I finished both of them atleast an hour before the scheduled time. Today I even had the time to write an extra answer and still have around 25 minutes to spare. They really should make these into 2 hour papers. We’ve got Maths tomorrow so wish me luck.

I’ve spent the last 9 years of my life at my school. The Hyderabad Public School. And today was the last day of school, considering the fact that we will only be going to school for the exams after this.
It wasnt very a special day. A handful of people came to school. Fatik and me minded the assembly for one last time and came to class. We just sat in class thinking about the boards and prefinals when our class teacher entered and took attendance…….Fatik and me still have 100% attendance……then we discussed about the exams, other students, our future, etc, etc……..
Maths class went by quickly and we went to the library, got some old board papers from there and walked out of school to get them xeroxed. We walked back in school…..and while strolling towards the science block, we saw the tamarind tree next to the music room….we threw stones at it like small kids again, hit quite a few of them and walked on chewing tamarinds.
After returning the books to the library, we picked up our bags from class for one last time and went towards the middle school in search of a teacher. We found her….but she was busy…and as we waited for her, we saw 6th class kids running around doing stupid stuff…..we laughed our hearts out…for one last time…..
Then, just as we were about to go home, we asked the cook if there was chicken for lunch and he gave a blatant ‘Yes’ but that was enough for us…..we went in through the back gates…..and took our seats at the prefects table and waited for the bell to ring…after what seemed like eternity…..we ate as much as we could….we wished our appetites were larger…..then we bid goodbye to the boarders…….and walked out of the school gates looking back at the buildings which had given us moments of joy and sorrows…..good times and bad times…..friends and enemies……fun and fights…..school had never looked so beautiful……..

Yesterday was the first day of school after a month of vacation. We got some useful tips for math and spent the rest of the day sitting under trees discussing nostalgic school moments. Then we found out that there was no chicken in school so we went and had lunch at Subway and then went to our respective houses.
Today was little sad with a measly attendance of 6 in our class. We had lunch in school and then just walked out of the school gates and went home.
It was good to be back at school but hardly any people were willing to come to school……
