Well, today was a weird day. We had fun, it was pretty screwed up and we were bored too. So basically, today was a mix and match of several day’s experience. We missed Children’s Day at school and went for the GMR Quiz at the Hyderabad International Airport at Shamshabad. The journey was pretty long at around one and half hours through villages and bumpy roads. We finally reached there and the preliminaries for the quiz took place. The standard of the quiz was pretty low considering the other schools which were there. But the questions were crappy and so was the quiz master.
Daman and me weren’t taking part since it was only for the juniors and had fun being the audience. Sadly, our juniors didnt qualify. Then we had mimicry by this really weird dude who chased kids around in the lunch hour. Lunch was okay considering that they gave Mutton Biryani in school. Anyways, the elocution followed which was average. Just 2 or 3 of the competitors were good, others were pretty pathetic.
We had guided tour of the airport too. It’s a huge place. Took lots of pictures, will post them soon. After a pretty long ride, we went back and sat on really uncomfortable chairs. We had a magic show which was again performed by the dude who did the mimicry. It was okay but was a waste of time. The final round of the quiz started late and was just of acceptable level. The winners got PS2’s though. We reached school at around 8:30 PM. Overall, the place was great but as I said before, it was a mixed experience. I’m tired like hell now so no more details…..
