Picasa had been bugging me for the past few days to update it and I finally got with it yesterday. After it finished updating, I realised that I should have updated it earlier. Its got some new features and has a slightly different look too.
The main U.S.P of the update was the Web Albums feature. You can login into web albums using your Google Id and upload photos directly from withing Picasa. The Albums have a limit of 250Mb unlike Flickr where they have a monthly upload limit.
Another great new addition was geotagging which allowed one to mark the places where the picture was taken. This was greatly aided by the integration of Google Earth. When a picture had to be geotagged, Google Earth would automatically open (if installed) and you can select the place where th picture was snapped. Then the Latitude and Longitude would be added to the EXIF data of the picture.
The labels feature has been replaced by the Albums feature which allows us to arrange picture from different folders into one Album for eas viewing. The Album does not create copies of the picture but merely stores the data of their location, thereby saving your precious hard disk space.
The update was good and Picasa has been the best free image organising program I have used till date. Its gets 8.5/10. Download it here.
I’ve also updated the header of the website.

There was no power for about an hour in the night yesterday so I did some ‘Night Art’ and took some pictures of it. I’ve uploaded them to the ‘Photography > Night Art‘ category.
I checked out Windows Live Search yesterday. Its quite spectacular to be honest. I just loved the excess use of AJAX. It doesnt have a large database like Google but I’m sure it will improve soon. I’ve got high hopes for this one.

One Trip. 4.5GB of pictures. 6 hours of travelling. 15000mAh of batteries. 1700 pictures. One destination.
We went out for a trip to the NagarjunaSagar Dam (the world’s largest masonary dam) today just for taking pictures. We had great fun travelling and when we reached there, we found out that it was one of those few days in the year when the sluice gates were open and I managed to capture some amazing shots. You can find them in the gallery under the ‘Poeple and Places > Trip to Nagarjuna Sagar‘ category. I’ve updated the ‘Me’ category too.
And here is an amazing advert for the Xbox 360 for its release in India. I watched it on TV a few days ago and its just great. Its called ‘Porok’. Heres the link to the video on YouTube.
And I have also added a new ‘Stats’ page which shows the recent visitors of the site on a Map. Check it out.

I started playing this game yesterday and I thought like all the addicting flash games, it would all be over today but then the urge to play the game was tremendous and I couldnt get off the computer without finishin it. And finally today, I successfully managed to complete all the 50 levels of the game. Its the first time I’ve ever completed a flash game.
Here’s a link to the game - Beware! Highly Addictive!
I also played Call of Juarez today. Its got extremly good graphics and great physics. When you shoot a man on his knee, he actually falls down on that knee. I’ve only got the demo but that was great itself. Its a little heavy on system resources so make sure your computer is upto the task before downloading the 500Mb demo. Or you could just go and buy this months edition of CHIP.
My collection of Adolf Hitler related books is on the rise. First I had ‘Mein Kampf‘ and now I got ‘Hitler & his god‘. I cant wait to start reading the book.
I watched ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’, again yesterday. Its simply a spectacular movie. The special effects and graphics in the movie are outta sight.
And in other unrelated news, some new domain name extensions have been approved. They sure are kinda weird but you never know.
.aero, .mn, .im, .at, .es, .mobi
Guess thats all for now. I’ve got some stuff getting ready for tomorrow. So long…….

Time: 2:00PM
Location: Pizza Hut
Condition: Irritated, Frustrated, Funny, Stupid….overall, very weird
So, there we are, all sitting pretty at Pizza Hut and waiting for Krutika to get cash. Let me rewind a few hourse to recollect the events.
Its the last day of exams and everyone wants to go somewhere except nobody is able to make up their mind so few of use decide to go to Pizza Hut for lunch after half an hour of thinking. We all gladly hop into the cars and rush to Pizza Hut. There again, nobody can make up their minds on what to eat. After a few minutes of arguing and squabbling, we finaly order the best pizzas on the menu. The pizzas arrive and soon after, all of our tummies are packed to the brim. The waiter politely asks us if we need any dessert, which we refused. The bill came and turned out to be a little exorbitant so I hand over my card.
Then the waiter says I have to enter my PIN number.
My PIN number, eh? I had totally forgot about it. So I try to remember it but in vain, everyone tries to help me out but we dont get it right. I go and try some numbers and I’m met by a blatant ‘ERROR’. I tell everyone the situation and slowly everyone empties their pockets but we’re still short.
Then Krutika tuns to get some cash from home and we were waiting for her to come back for about an hour. We basically passed the time by cracking stupid lame jokes and making fun of people.
At 2:30, the cash arrives and we hand over the bill to the smiling manager. I thought that they would quite pissed at us for just loafng around there but quite contrary to it, they found the whole situation amusing. Well, Pizza Hut gets a point in my books for that.
Coming to the exams, I took 10 additionals yesterday, they highest ever in my records. And today, I finished the exam around 30mins before the due time. Both of the exams went quite well and now, its time to enjoy the holidays.
